Ivy League Face-Off: From Sports to Social Media

on Fri, 05/04/2012 - 12:37pm

The Ivy League is near & dear to my heart, as I am a proud Cornellian! Yes, an member of the "high above Cayuga waters" clan. Although we take pride in our professors, such as Carl Sagan, Ivy Leaguers love their sports. Whether following the University of Pennsylvania Men's Basketball Team in the 1979 NCAA Final Four, wearing New York Knick's Jeremy Lin #17 jersey (a Harvard alum) or rooting for Women's Lacrosse standouts, Sarah Plumb of Dartmouth and Jessi Steinberg of Cornell, to receive the prestigious 2012 Tewaaraton Award, historically we can talk sports with the best of the Big Ten!

Now we're in the digital age & social media is another massive playing field. Colleges have forged the way, with the Ivy League playing a big part in the development of the interactive media and its continued reach. So needless to say, I was quite interested in the article Ivy League Facebook Face-Off [Infographic] by Michael van der Galien appearing on Media Tapper Magazine.
