So I just came across two separately published but conjoined thoughts regarding the ever-increasing importance of digital marketing. I want to share these simple facts/projections with you, after all helpful ideas should be shared, nurtured and grown that’s what the Internet is all about. One thought came from, Top 5 Digital Marketing Tips for 2012, an article written by Jonathan Gardner, Director of Communications at Vibrant. Within his forecast for digital marketing in 2012 Gardner believes in the tried and true. He says, "With eMarketer projecting a 14.4% increase in US online ad spending and Google saying that video ads improve offline campaign results, digital will certainly take on added prominence in the new year. Even so, let’s resolve to keep our heads on straight and stick close to the best practices that have been winners in the past – they’ll be the ones to see us through a stellar 2012." Sound advice, along with his top 5 digital marketing tips of which I really like #5. Status quo is great but I must admit that fresh outlooks, new information, promising trends and forward motion excite me!
The other relevant factoid I'd like to share comes from a video by YouTube that I found on Google+. It says, "The world is now uploading more than 60 minutes worth of video per second to YouTube". Wow!! Now that's a lot of video and for those in the digital marketing space comes further confirmation, if you're still looking for it, that computer and mobile video Internet content is an integral, undeniable force in your marketing program from today onward. If you're not there yet, or in the manner you wish to be, find a way to create that video presence online professionally, creatively and effectively. Your customers are here right now, are you?
